Michael is an experienced attorney who has spent his entire career litigating business disputes. He is adept at understanding the stakes of each particular case to his clients and their business. He understands that he must represent and advise within a framework that fits a client’s bottom line with the goal of minimizing the disruption litigation causes to their business. Clients expect an exceptional lawyer. They are often surprised at how an equally exceptional and astute businessperson as their attorney can benefit them. Michael’s vision for OSR is to create a boutique law firm capable of more seamlessly partnering with clients in smarter, more efficient and creative ways that make sense for both parties.

Michael is well versed in all facets of litigation and arbitration concerning complex business and commercial disputes regardless of industry. In addition to New York, Michael has litigated cases in several jurisdictions including Arizona, California, Delaware, Illinois, New Jersey, Texas and Virginia. Michael’s clients differ in size from Fortune 500 companies to single shareholder corporations and individuals. Their industries range from telecommunications and wireless devices to transportation and insurance to technology and software. He is as comfortable litigating unfair competition and theft of trade secrets cases as he is with breach of contract and property damage cases.

He is a capable and aggressive litigator when the situation warrants but also adept at counseling clients in litigation avoidance techniques both before and after lawsuits arise. Michael has tried cases in state and federal courts in addition to disposing of them through motion practice and negotiated settlement before trial. He has also arbitrated numerous matters before the AAA and FINRA. He enjoys working closely with clients to identify the problem and to implement the best solution in any particular situation to achieve his clients’ desired outcome.

Michael left large firm practice after fifteen years looking for something different. He has found it as a founding partner of OSR working with a hand selected team on the cases and for the clients that he wants. When he is not litigating cases, you will likely find him coaching or cheering on one or more of his four children at various sports and other activities. When possible, he enjoys playing golf with friends, rooting for the New York Yankees, Rangers and Jets and continuing to refine his palate to become a more accomplished connoisseur of wine and single malt scotch, although not necessarily in that order.
